Symposium day 2: workshops

[By Vincent Desplanche, Symposium Correspondent in Chicago, USA]

Thursday morning, all the workshops participants have to meet their tutor on Congress Plaza North.

What kind of silent demonstration is that ?

Maru Godas is very enthusiastic, people are having fun, gouaching like children.

Marc Taro Holmes invites the participants to brake the silhouette with watercolor brush strokes.

Marc always moves from a place to another and I’m kidding about this.

But the real hide and seek game happens when I can’t find Kiah Kiean’s workshop in the park.

Desperate, I come back to Michigan avenue and attend to the last moments of James Richards’ class in front of Art Institute.

In the afternoon I follow Lisa Flahive’s demonstration of catching the energy of Chicago on Federal Building Plaza…

Beside the impressive works of Mies Van der Rohe and Alexander Calder.

Back to the hub, we listen to the documented lectures of Mark Leibowitz and Tapas Mitra.
