Santa Catalina Island is only about an hour away from mainland Los Angeles area, yet having to take the boat to get there feels like going on a vacation far away.
The only city on the island is Avalon, which is bustling with tourists among small charming shops on the waterfront. In between strolling around with friends and finding a seat at Descanso Beach Club with drink in hand, I managed to capture an ocean view.
