Siberia, Russia

The post of Zhenia showed the beautiful colours of Russia in Autumn.

This week last year I was in Tyumen, a large town in the middle of Siberia.

I had the luck to fly a few hours in an old Russian MIL helicopter over the forests of Siberia. Without doubt one of the most beautiful sights I have ever seen.

These vibrant colours of the yellow/brown birch trees, the green pines, and deep blue lakes!

I managed to make a quick sketch of the helicopter before we were forced off the helipad, I added the colours later.

In the morning I rose early to make a short walk from our hotel in Tyumen. I stopped in this inner courtyard of a housing block, where I made a quick drawing of two women collecting empty beerbottles lying around the childrens playground. They were already dressed for the winter.
