Drawing performance spaces

This week’s drawing class was focused on music. In the afternoon we drew a rehearsal for a recital in St James church in Piccadilly – a lovely Wren church from mid 17th century (which happens to be the church that William Blake was christened in). The rehearsal took a while to set up so I drew my fellow drawers…

The morning was spent at the Royal Academy of Music, where an orchestral rehearsal was taking place. I was struck by the wonderful posture that the cellists adopt as soon as the music starts
