100 days…

100days flags
…to go until the Soccer World Cup in South Africa (actually 99 today). Yesterday street parties were held around the country to start the countdown. I went along to Sandton to catch some of the vibe and excitement that is beginning to grow. The trumpets are called vuvuzelas, and are set to become the background noise of all the events, something that’s caused some controversy. It wasn’t as awful as I feared – actually quite harmonious and definitely creates a lively atmosphere, though I wouldn’t want to be sitting directly in front of one!
