Meet the correspondents: Nouakchott > Oumar Ball

Hello, my name is Oumar Ball.

I’m an autodidact artist. I started sculpting at the age of nine and painting at 16 with my father a painter and photographer.

Drawing from observation has started only a few years ago discovering Urban Sketchers has been very good as well as it pushes me to go out and try to share through my drawings the beauty of my country and the daily life of my neighbourhood and city.

I will use my native language in my posts (Pulaar/ fulani) and French.
