Mercado Modelo

I loved delivering the workshops at Mercado Modelo in Santo Domingo~I felt jealous of everyone drawing in and around the market area! In-between mine and Nathalie’s morning and afternoon workshop, we treated ourselves to a little down time to get a drawing in of our own. The fruit and vegetable market to the side was alive and bustling, and as I settled in, as with any other location, my Dominican compadres were not only gracious and curious, they ushered people out of the way that they thought were blocking my view- of course, the people were who I was after:) But the experience of connecting and me being able to supply some comic relief to their day, as they laughed over my characterizations of them was unforgettable!
