“News from Warsaw” project

These are some samples from the 3 sketchbooks I used during my 15 days residency in Warsaw, by the end of May. Invited by the Camões Institute in Poland and the City of Warsaw to stay at the Warsaw Contemporary Art Centre, I was interested in exploring how one reacts to an unknown city, registering all my field observations and thoughts using nothing else but 14x14cm white paper sketchbooks, black ball-point pens and my senses. I opened a new label in my blog entitled “News from Warsaw”, in which I will be sharing a selection of the best drawings made (until the end of July), during what ended up being an “exploratory residence”, using a very suitable term found by José Carlos Dias (the representative of the Camões Institute in Poland and responsible for invitating me to go to Warsaw). Check it out! Hope you´ll enjoy it.
