By Orling Dominguez in Barcelona, Spain.
I think I was one the first ones to arrive to Barcelona to participate in the Symposium. I travelled early to avoid or at least recuparate from the jet lag quickly (didn’t work, I was just in Santo Domingo time during my whole trip). As other sketchers started to arrive, I notice their urgency to visit Sagrada Familia to, obviously, sketch it. Me, being there probably 3 weeks before symposium started, had no rush to visit it, I was taking my time, maybe because I had already seen it on previous trips. But then time arrived to pay the honors and only one day was left before departure. I spent a couple of hours there, just walking around, admiring, for the 3rd time (multiply by 10), such jewel! Sagrada Familia is one of those buildings that is more a sculpture than just an structure, either you love it or not, it will not leave you untouched, it does for sure leave you speechless (even if you have seen it for the 3rd time multiply by 10!).
Here some lose lines trying (just trying) to capture those “cool” towers!!!
On my way back from Sagrada Familia, a short stop was in order to check out Casa Batlló, by Gaudí as well. What a genius!!!
Looking forward many more visits to Barcelona!
