New Year’s Day, Auckland

By Murray Dewhurst in Auckland, New Zealand.

Auckland is a very strange place over the Christmas break. Everyone goes to their beach bach or campground, the city totally empties out, leaving visitors to the city a bit lost wondering where all the people have gone.

Thankfully we found plenty of people and plenty going on at Cheltenham, an inner city beach on a superb sunny New Year’s Day. So nice to hit the beach after the mad Christmas rush!
