Jazz quartet at my neighborhood library

[Guest post by Laurie Wigham, in San Francisco, California, USA]

BernalJazzQuartet @ BernalLibrary

Bernal Jazz Quartet, a delightful group of neighborhood musicians, plays at the Bernal Library once a month. This evening they had a guest.

I had to get home and finish cooking dinner so was working fast. I crammed all the musicians into the frame, all doing solos at once, and just drew them all on top of each other. I like the effect.

I enjoy sketching musicians because, like birds, they keep cycling through the same 3 or 4 positions and you can keep hopping around the sketch, filling in details each time a pose pops up again. See more sketches of musicians HERE.

Laurie is an artist from San Francisco. See more of her work on Flickr or LaurieW Facebook.
