Workshop Instructor: Jane Blundell, Australia

Australian born, Jane started sketching as a child and has never stopped. She completed a B.A. Visual Arts, worked as an etcher for a year, and then completed a Graduate Diploma in Art Education, graduating with distinction. She taught art at two excellent Australian schools for five years, then spent nine years abroad, living in the US and Singapore where she set up her own studio teaching adults watercolour and drawing. She trained as a Docent and taught in the Singapore Art Museum Docent training program.

She is a member of the Australian Watercolour Institute and a multi-award winning exhibiting artist. She has held four solo exhibitions and participated in many group shows.

Jane illustrated the children’s book, Kayla & the Magical Tree, and authored the art reference books Watercolour Mixing Charts (2012) and The Ultimate Mixing Palette: A World of Colours (2015), available through blurb.com. She has three more books underway.

Living in Sydney, she currently teaches several weekly classes, and gives workshops and demonstrations for numerous art societies in Australia and overseas. (Full workshop and demonstration listings here).

She Joined the Urban Sketchers Australia in June 2013, presented two demonstrations for the USK Symposium in Singapore in 2014 and is loving the interaction with the community of sketchers from all over the world.
