Workshop Instructor: Fred Lynch, Boston (United States)

Fred Lynch is a professor of illustration at Rhode
Island School of Design (RISD), in the USA, where he has taught for 26 years.
He is a recipient of the school’s prestigious Thomas R. Frasier Award for
Teaching Excellence. He graduated from RISD in 1986. In addition, Fred is an
award-winning illustrator having worked for countless publications and
corporations both in the US and abroad. 
He lives outside of Boston, Massachusetts.

Fred has been a correspondent for Urban Sketchers
since 2009, and he often features work from Central Italy where he teaches
Journalistic Drawing each July, for Montserrat College of Art’s Summer Program in
Viterbo. His onsite work is featured in a growing number of books and
exhibitions. Fred taught in Paraty, Brazil for the 5th Annual Urban Sketcher’s
Symposium, and created the Big Crit for that event. He lectured on his work at
the Barcelona Symposium.
