Honored with the 2013 and 2012 KRob architectural delineation award for Best Travel Sketch and the 2013 Gabriel Prize fellowship in Architecture, Seattle-based Stephanie Bower is a professional architectural illustrator, teacher, watercolor artist, and globetrotting sketcher.
Stephanie graduated in both Architecture and Interior Design and worked as a licensed Architect in New York City before gravitating to a career in architectural illustration. She has taught architectural sketching for over 25 years – for a decade in NYC at Parsons and in Seattle at the UW and Cornish College of the Arts, and in “Good Bones” perspective and watercolor sketching workshops in Seattle and Italy. She taught a workshop called “180 degrees” at the 2014 USk Symposium in Brazil and gave an interactive lecture on perspective in Singapore 2015.
Stephanie is one of the cadre of Urban Sketchers teaching online on Craftsy.com, her course “Perspective for Sketchers” shows that accurate perspective is easy, once you know what to look for! She is also the author of the fourth book in The Urban Sketching Handbook series, Understanding Perspective, available Summer 2016.
