[By Gabi Campanario in Seattle] You probably saw the call for car sketches in the recent issue of Drawing Attention.
A wall of car sketches from all over the world in memory of Florian Afflerbach, who died unexpectedly last May, will be displayed during the upcoming Urban Sketchers Symposium in Manchester.
My contribution to the tribute is a classic American pickup truck that I found parked in my neighborhood this afternoon. It’s a Ford F150 Ranger XLT, probably from the 1970s. When I saw it, the yellow paint job brought to mind Flaf’s shining blond hair. I took that as a sign that this was a vehicle he would have liked to draw.
