Same boat, different takes

[By Gabi Campanario in Seattle] I rarely sketch the same subject twice, let alone three times, over a short period of time. But that’s what happened recently when I drew the Arthur Foss, a historic tugboat moored on Seattle’s Lake Union.

What does it mean that I drew the same boat three times within just a few weeks!? It’s easy to agonize over these things. Monet created 25 amazing oil paintings of haystacks. Did he ever get tired of the same subject?

And that’s where the answer may be. It’s not the same subject when you look at it with fresh eyes again and again and again.
