[By Lis Watkins in London] Thought it might be nice to draw some windmills in practice
for travelling to Amsterdam next month! It turns out there are a few still standing
in south London, so myself and Jo Dungey from the London chapter went off to
draw them. Firstly, it was Wimbledon Windmill in a lovely setting on the Common
which felt like being in the middle of the countryside.
Then Brixton, which is about a 15 minute walk from the tube station. It has been restored and is fully functional, producing its own flour.
Lastly it was Shirley Windmill near Croydon, tucked away on a suburban housing estate.
