Ice-cream Truck and Cart in India

Icecream truck copy-LR.jpg

Presenting the colorful Indian ice cream truck. A minivan customized for cold storage, this truck sells kulfis (Indian ice cream), ice cream, falooda and milkshakes. Kulfi, Indian ice cream is denser and creamier than regular ice cream. Unlike ice cream, Kulfi is not whipped but is made by slow boiling sweetened and flavored milk till it thickens and condenses. It is then poured into molds and frozen. The truck owner Dinesh Vaishnav said he got this truck customized from Rajasthan. You also find colorful ice cream carts selling similar items. I sketched the ice cream cart on a trip to Kolhapur.
