Old Welsh Tree

Hi,  I’m Dan a 42-year old self taught artist and Urban Sketcher from Salford in the UK.

My wife and I, while on holiday in South Wales drove past this beautiful old, gnarled tree which was standing guard next to the gate of a farmers field.  I knew the second I saw it I had to capture it.

The piece is Ink on A4, 300gms Water Colour Paper and as Bob Ross would say, I even managed to keep some “Happy Accidents” in the piece when my dip pen dripped everywhere, which only added to the character of the drawing in my opinion.

This piece was featured in a recent group exhibition at the Cornerstones in Salford as part of the ‘From the Art of Salford 2024’ exhibition and sold to a lovely lady who is very happy with it.
