Sketches of British Architecture Here and There

I am an international student studying at university in England. Having seen or read about British architecture only in books or film, it was a splendid discovery when I beheld them in London for the first time. Since then I have had the pleasure of visiting small British towns and the countryside and have been smitten by the picturesque villages with their quaint cottages.

My sketches are an appreciation of the resplendence of these centuries-old buildings dotted around England.

                                                                 The Colonnade

                                                               A street in Haworth

                                                                 City Fish Bar, Canterbury

PXL_20240502_221653993 (1).jpgA sketch of a fish and chips restaurant in the cathedral city, Canterbury. This is one among an endless array of stunningly designed buildings lining every corner of the delightfully bustling High Street.

                                                                      L’Olivo, Margate

PXL_20240502_221753639.jpgThe Italian restaurant L’Olivo near the Margate seafront immediately catches the eye as a bright splosh of red on the grey cobbled street.

                                                             The Turnways, Headingley

This is a house my sister had lived in. In the coldest days of December, blanketed by snow, it transformed into a monochrome of brown and white.
