The urban landscape has always been my canvas and source of inspiration. My sketching journey took flight in the streets of London, as a side-effect of the COVID lockdown, when I was confined to a small radius. A morning run before starting my work- from-home day became the new routine. Each run, even along the same path, felt different, as the familiar scenes shifted with the changing light and weather.
It was then, self-taught and starting in my local neighbourhood, that I learnt to observe the overlooked beauty hidden in everyday streets, alleyways, and forgotten corners in our seemingly plain daily lives.
Painting these scenes became my way of capturing moments of serendipity, distilling them into emotional journeys with watercolour and ink. From my winter garden to streets nearby, from the rooftop in my office building to football stadiums, I found joy in turning familiar, ordinary places into vibrant life on paper.
