Solo sketchcrawl this time… I started the journey sketching some sparse architecnonical elements from different buildings. The kind of subjects you hardly notice when you pass by them everyday in a hurry…
On the left, 2 cierros. Die cierro is a wooden and glass ornamental element sticking out the balcony to let the owner look outside and helps ventilate the inside. On the right, 3 guardacantones. Die guardacantón is a stone element stuck into a building corner to protect it against carriages, and prevent the attrition of the edge. The palaces used to have nicely ornamented ones.
Tired of drawing in a standing position, I sat on a stone garden edge to sketch the old customs house. Not very comfortable, though… at the end I thought it had been a bad idea…
