A few weeks ago we spent the day in Basel. The weather couldn’t have been better. My wife did some shopping and I sat on a bus stop sketching these buildings across the way. Normally I don’t have the patience to add all the details, but the weather was so amazing I had to just soak up the sun. Lately I’ve been doing pencil sketches on location, then going home and adding some pen and cheap watercolor. On this particular day there were crowds of people and constant street cars going by (and a hefty wind), so I didn’t want to spread out all my stuff for everyone to step on. I did have a person sitting on either side of me on the bench while I was drawing. Kind of fun having people look over your shoulder and ask you questions, but nice to have a little privacy too.
