I hope everyone had lovely relaxing Easters… I did!
Every year I look out for chocolate Easter bilbies as an alternative to the Easter Bunny. This is my collection this year.
The bilby is the closest native Australian animal we have to a rabbit – I have thought they were a bit rat with long ears – but on Friday afternoon I decided that I would go to the zoo and try to find one. I spent 45 minutes in the dark watching 2 very cute Bilbies run/hop around and around the enclosure – tried to capture something of them- but they were never still! I have to say that they are unbelievably cute and more like a mini kangaroo than a rabbit (or a rat) – run around like a kangaroo walks – if that makes sense.
I also made two visits to my favourite tearoom (T2 tearoom at Macquarie Centre) I normally pop in when I have been doing some shopping but these visits were social ones – so I didn’t get as much time to sketch even though one both occasions we were there for hours!!! So the sketches I did were very rushed and done without interruption to the ongoing conversations!
