Straight to…masses.

I went out for some sketches in the holidays.

I was wandering near home when I found this truck parked. I liked the picturesque scene: the truck with its load, the antenna and the oddly arranged houses on the background. I decided not working with colors in this one, although I used a pale indigo for the first masses. Then, I worked only with shades of grey.

This is the sketch, which took me around 1,5 hour.

An this is two pictures I took there. In the first one you can see the first layers of masses.

Then, I just kept decreasing the masses until they ‘resemble’ details.

An this is another sketch I did later that day.

In this one, I put myself a limit of time: 30 minutes to sketch that complicated street. Well, actually I worked for a little more than that. About 40 minutes.

It was cold…I was hungry and kind of tired (the first sketch took me a lot of energy). But it was a great sketching day for me. On the way home, I was pretty happy thinking about the sketches I had just made. Sometimes, things work out.

Hasta pronto.
