Earlier this week, I got a bit hung up on the high poplar trees at the end if our garden. I was fascinated by the way they were bending right over in the strong winds.
I kept painting them over and over, trying to capture the movement, with several sketchbooks going at the same time so I wouldn’t have to wait for things to dry.
On one occasion a sketchbook got torn from under my hand by an expecialy powerful gust, and ended up wrapped around a bush!
I like the way they have become quite abstracted.
