The architecture shows the cultural influences of different eras. Temples are living records of our rich heritage. While sketching temples, I always feel energetic.

The architecture alone is impressive, but it’s the devotees who complete this composition. Their presence brings the temple to life, adding movement and emotion. This blend of structure and human interaction creates a unique harmony.

I find this whole experience difficult to explain in words. However, sketching helps me capture the essence of it. Each line and shade in my drawing reflects this harmony. Every visit to a temple offers a new and unique experience to sketch.

While devotees come to a temple for the holy idols, I, as an artist, am drawn to its architecture. The proportion and scale of the temple captivate me. I am intrigued by its unique style and the materials used in construction.

In India, temples are everywhere, from bustling cities to quiet villages. I see them as perfect examples of proportional composition, where every element is balanced.

KOTWALI TEMPLE

While passing through crowded streets, I am always drawn to the kalashas of many temples. They inspire me to sketch not only the temples themselves but also the bustling context of the surrounding shops and activities.

DURGA TEMPLE

I think temples have a unique energy. Whenever I draw a temple, I focus on the energy I feel at that moment. This energy could be calm, vibrant, or even solemn.

My goal is to reflect this feeling in my sketch. Therefore, even if the physical structure of the temple remains the same, my drawings will differ.
