Just before the election, I visited Washington with a gaggle of fellow bloggers, including a newly-minted naturalized citizen. The timing couldn’t have been better; as we face a time of fear and uncertainty, it’s good to be reminded that such times can often bring out the best in us, and remind us that we were founded on ideas worth pursuing, goals worth achieving, and no matter how often we stumble and fall and blunder and damage, redemption is always possible.
Plus, a beautiful sunny day in Washington, D.C. is worth celebrating for itself, without the ponderous musings. Especially in the company of wonderful fellow-travelers.
