In the afternoon we drew a rehearsal for a recital in St James church in Piccadilly – a lovely Wren church from mid 17th century (which happens to be the church that William Blake was christened in). The morning was spent at the Royal Academy of Music, where an orchestral rehearsal was taking place. I was struck by the wonderful posture that the cellists adopt as soon as the music starts
