The Garba is a frenzied, high-energy dance from Gujarat in India. I was at the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco last week, and this troupe of dancers was performing short sequences of the garba for museum goers. Each session lasted about five minutes and was accompanied by loud Bollywood music. This page is a capture of one session of the dance. It was fun to sit up front in the audience, so close to the dancers and try and capture the whirl of their skirts, the flashes of bright colors and the energy of the dance.
