Last month, I finally made it to Portugal— missed the symposium by several months, but better late than never! It was wonderful to see Lisbon with my own eyes, much of it felt so familiar after seeing it through the beautiful symposium sketches from this summer. I spent most of my holiday in and around Painho, then travelled south to lovely Mértola. I didn’t sketch at all— rather I happily wandered the countryside in search birds, drank delicious wine, and feasted on pastéis and rissóis of every kind (I am still craving the camarão).
