The temperature in London has hauled itself into the 20Cs, and when this occasionally coincides with sunshine, the city’s many garden squares can be a welcome and relaxing refuge. In Russell Square, trees shroud the sight of circling traffic, and the sound of its fountains mute the urban cacophony around. The square is just around the corner from the British Museum into which I nipped to see Germany Divided, an intriguing exhibition of drawings and prints by Baselitz, Richter and others.
