Summer is here
I know it’s summer when I’m using up the yellows and greens in my paintbox MUCH faster than I’m going through my Payne’s Grey. I love painting the dappled light through the trees and the cool grey shadows that are a lovely contrast to the blinding white sunlight. But most of all I love that I can sketch outdoors without a jacket and fingerless gloves. Sometimes I paint in the sun in warm yellows and golds, and sometimes I choose to leave it blinding light and pain in the shadows. here are some beginning-of-summer sketches.
