Me and my family just returned from a 2 week sightseeing tour through the north of India. Some incredible country.
We started out in New Delhi, and proceeded towards the beautiful city of Jaipur.
There was so much to see and sketch, you see something longing for a quick impression around every corner.
As we were part of a group of about 20 travellers, I could not always sketch what I wanted, so I had to take the opportunity whenever I could. Like when making long busrides between the cities (that’s why the lines are a bit shaky).
On the road we saw thousands of these lavishly decorated and heavily overloaded Tata trucks. They have a funny feature: a wide ventilation opening between the front windowpanes. These trucks don’t have airco of course… On the inside this opening was often decorated as a small temple with a colourful statue of Gamesh (the god with the elephant head).
Below the view over Jaipur, as seen from the rooftop swimming pool of our hotel.
