i have tried to do sketches with graphic touch,though live sketching.Sometimes drawing the scene as it is gets boring,so a bit of artisitic freedom is exercised by most of us.

This is a burnt down dzong near Paro.The signs of war and burning of dzong are sad reminders when we see the dzong,but they are artists delight to sketch.i have tried few.

end of bhutan series??

i am travelling to Bangalore,india for next 4 days.I will be coming back with some sketches for sure.I suppose this is my last post on bhutan…Thanks for your support and comments.

monks and monastery.

Very rarely i attepmt to draw humanfigures,as stationary objects are better subjects! But in this monastery at thimpu,there were so many monks around that it was not posiible to ignore them.They had a hearty laugh when they saw their poses!Even with language barrier we could communicate our feelings.

I carry a pocket diary about 5x 6 inches,in which i make notes and drawings too.it is very handy as can be kept in pocket and a double spread can give a small sketch painting.posting some of these pages.

Bhutan sketches: Paro Valley

Paro is a Valley town. The bazar has a very distinct character, straight out of western movies. You expect Clint Eastwood to ride on horse any time! The mountain background and snow capped Himalays completes the perfect picture. Posting a few sketches and photographs of Paro bazar.

On way to taktsang monastary,i came across a small structure built inside the mountain.(see photo). I liked it very much and had a chance to use the rock profiles in graphical way.the steps still remind me of my tired legs!!
