I helped some friends move to the neighborhood today. But I was sick, so it wasn’t long before I just ended up lying in the back of the moving truck, with this view.
I sketched this with the newish Layers iPhone app. One of the great advantages Layers had over Brushes when it was introduced was that it offered layers–that is, I could have sketched the trees on a separate layer from the building, and erased them, without erasing the building layer. The new version of Brushes has layers, however (which may be part of why David Hockney refuses to upgrade?) and I am not quite sure what the remaining differences are between the apps. In any case, habits die hard, and I completely forgot to make use of layers for this sketch–it’s all done in one, the old-fashioned way!
