[By Jeroen Jannsen from Brussels, Belgium] The president of the United States always knows how to hurt people with his tweets. One and a half year ago, we dit even not yet know how to write his name in Belgium, and there was his tweet about the hellhole of Brussels. There was something about terrorists who grew up in a run down suburb.
Judith, a friend, big artist, lives in that neighborhood. Sometimes we are going to sketch there together with other artists. The one moment you think you are in Congo, the other moment in Lebanon. Even Syria is just across the street.
And then there are those people who D.J. Trump prefers not to see travelling into America. One gives us a cup of tea or a pastry while we draw, the other (I presume, he’s the Syrian) enters his shop and brings me a fresh coke. Someone even wants to give me money! Which I refuse of course, I would have to pay for this party! The days fly by when I am visiting Brussels with my sketchbooks.
