Last weekend, 23 Urbansketchers from Singapore went up to our neighbouring Penang to join more than 50 other Malaysian, Thai and Taiwanese sketchers for our very first joint sketching event in Asia. This sketching event is organised by the very hospitable Penang USK correspondent Ch’ng Kiah Kiean and his Penang team. It also part of the annual Georgetown culture and heritage festival. We really had great fun sketching and learning from each other. Georgetown is a UNESCO heritage town and we had the good fortunte to sketch at 4 different and unique locations over 2 days. In the evening we always conclude with a sharing session and talks by TIA (Singapore), ASNEE (Bangkok), Liu Wen Xiang (Taipei) & Kieah Kian (Penang). We ended the event with a public exhibition showcasing more than 70 sketches at Chinahouse.
