Drawing a full day (42nd Sketchcrawl in Poblenou, Barcelona and more)

My 42nd Sketchcrawl started with a grey day. It didn’t rain but grey was above our heads. I took train as always in my city heading to Barcelona. This time Sketchcrawl was in Poblenou a not very known area of Barcelona. It is really appreaciated by  artist and “cool people” because there are a lot of empty warehouses, ideal for studios.

I arrived one hour after the arranged time (10AM), there were already people finishing the first drawing. I was attracted by a parking lot, very industrial and far from the “established” idea of Barcelona.

We had dinner all together at the “L’Aliança” a nice place, big enough for accommodating more than 30 people. After coffees I drew some portraits.

I had to leave the drawing mates, because my daughter had a synchronized swimming competition in the evening. She had to perform two exercises. It was extremely boring because you had to wait and wait, and wait just for a 2 minutes exercise, so I drew mothers, fathers, grannies and grandaddies, relatives, friends, children, judges, swimmers,…

When night fell, day didn’t finish, my wife, some friends and I headed to “El Molino”, an old but refurbished cabaret-style theater on the Paral·lel street. We had some cava and five glasses later I drew this:
