Demo Presenter: Jenny Adam
Aerial and colour perspective are important tools to create depth and atmosphere in a sketch. Rather than architectural perspective, this demo is focused on the perspective effect that can be achieved through contrasts of line, texture, temperature etc. to create meaningful and evocative sketches.
In my demo, i will start with a quick drawing, establishing basic shapes of the scenery. We will not construct an architectural perspective but rather look at forms and their relationship to each other
Simplification is essential to this step. We will decide what we want to paint and what we will leave out. Analysing our motif, we will look at the colours present and define areas of contrast, then decide which technique of colour perspective is most suited. We will also discuss establishing a colour harmony through a limited palette and working with triadic or complementary colours.
