USk Workshop: Folding pages, unfolding sketches

In this workshop, sketchers will work like Renaissance Researchers looking for clues that connect Palaeontology animals structures (and all its beautiful organic lines) with the pioneer Italian Design from the 20th century. Just like Leonardo da Vinci was obsessed by Nature to inspire all his drawings and engineer machines, we will be sketching to create bridges between objects in two museums: Museo di Storia Naturale di Milano and La Triennale di Milano.

Museo di Storia Naturale di Milano

La Triennale di Milano

We will use the sketchbook as a tool to combine different views of objects, trying to understand what they have in common. How? Just by folding pages and sketching, allowing fragments to lead the way we see.

Goals to achieve:

  • Connect different objects through drawing;
  • Understand how Nature inspire life;
  • Usage of the sketchbook like a tool to research;
  • Learn how to select what to sketch from what we see;
  • Practice watercolor and contour line drawing;
  • Group learning by sharing processes.
