Over the rooftops of the Lower East Side

[By James Hobbs in New York City] We had a holiday to New York recently – it was a chance to spend family time together rather than a focused drawing trip, although the time difference meant I was usually up with plenty of time to draw the view from where we were staying well before my dearest ones rose for breakfast. The view over the rooftops of the Lower East Side as the sun rose never disappointed, with glimpses of three bridges – Williamsburg, Manhattan and Brooklyn – breaking the horizon. On our final day (before daughters one and two set off together on a Thunsberg-like rail journey across the US) I had chance to visit the Sketchbook Project in Brooklyn, which I have written about on my blog.
