Summer in the Aragonese Pyrenees, Spain

img2.jpg

Each European summer for the last 10 years (except for 2020, because of Covid), my husband and I have escaped the New Zealand winter for life in in a tiny van traveling through Europe. One of our favourite places we’ve discovered has been the Pyrenees near the medieval town of Ainsa.

Besides the attraction of all sorts of mountain adventures, this area has some of the things I like sketch to sketch most – rustic old buildings, rural and medieval villages, mountains, animals and flowers.

Here are just a few sketchbook spreads from summer 2022. The ones with notes that are not too personal ;-). All of these are pen and watercolour and the sketchbook is A5 in size.
