Diversity Plaza, Queens, New York City

Diversity Plaza, Queens, New York City on Saturday 29 March 2025 sketching with Urban Sketchers New York City. This bustling enclave of Queens is at an intersection of South Asian & South American cuisine and culture. Captured the market scene at the end of Ramadan.

The Urban Sketchers chapter of New York City explored this section of the most diverse borough in the United States that boasts over 180 different languages. Diversity Plaza in Jackson Heights has a smattering of South Asian restaurants and shops and just a stone’s throw from here there is a cluster of South American restaurants. ‘Twas a glorious outing which was well attended. On the final day of the holy month of Ramadan the air was filled with delightful aromas in this bustling market scene.
