A bookstore to call home

Every time I am in Darjeeling, I seem to end up in Oxford Bookstore on the Mall Road. It could be the books, or maybe the ambience of the place, or the feeling I get that makes me fond of it, but whatever it is, Oxford Bookstore has become my favorite place.

I decided to sketch it down in my sketchbook this time around. As people bustled by on the Mall and the clouds floated by over the hills, I pulled out my colors and set about capturing this little piece of heaven on canvas.

We all have places that hold a special place in our hearts, even if it’s just for a moment. This place, this wonderful haven called Oxford Bookstore, is one such place for me. It is a part of my little world, that I return to over and over again.

And I guess that’s what kept bringing me back to it, over and over again, every time I went to this beautiful little town nestled in the lap of the Himalayas.
