Meet Our Correspondents
Roger Klaassen
International Symposium Sketch Correspondent
Roger Klaassen is a professional illustrator based in Culemborg, the Netherlands. A lifelong drawer, he has been sketching on location well before the term “urban sketching” existed. He is the president of Urban Sketchers Netherlands, a role he has held for nearly eight years, and was part of the local organization team for the 2019 USk Symposium in Amsterdam. Roger enjoys connecting with fellow sketchers, discussing tools and techniques, teaching workshops, and sharing ideas. He was featured in The World of Urban Sketching by Stephanie Bower—one of the highlights of his sketching journey.
Anna Ziętkiewicz
Local Symposium Sketch Correspondent
Anna Ziętkiewicz was born in 1973 in Bydgoszcz, Poland, and is a graduate of the University of the Arts in Poznań. Formerly a storyboard artist for commercials and animated films, she now works as a digitalization specialist in a publishing house. Since 2017, Anna has actively participated in Urban Sketchers meetups across Poland and Europe, including cities such as Poznań, Wrocław, Gdańsk, Świdnica, Toruń, Berlin, and Prague. In 2024, she served as one of the instructors at the Urban Sketchers Festival in Świdnica.
Rapha Pinheiro
International Symposium Video Correspondent
Rapha Pinheiro is a Brazilian illustrator, architect, and comics creator. He holds degrees from FAU UFRJ and École Européenne Supérieure de l’Image in France, and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Comics and Urbanism at PROURB UFRJ. As Director of Inko Criativo, he trains artists and creates media content for diverse markets. Rapha has authored several graphic novels and co-created Funktoon, Brazil’s largest comics reading app. He served as Editor-in-Chief at Universo Guará (2019–2024) and has won multiple awards, including the Troféu HQMix and Cubo de Ouro. His work has been exhibited in Brazil and internationally.
