early sketchcrawl in Mauritania

This is one of my drawings made yesterday at Nouakchott’s “Port de Pêche Artisanale”.

The sky had this yellowish glow from the sandstorm we have been living in for the past days and while the heat was unbearable in town here by the seaside it was gorgeous.

Mauritanian artistes responded in numbers and so did young people and families, not a huge crowd yet but there where only 5 of us in the first one I organised in January.

You can check photos and sketches here from our afternoon at the fish harbour.

I did an early one as many people will be returning to Europe for the summer holidays but as myself and the Mauritanian artists are staying for summer will probably join the worldwide sketchcrawl, “inch’Allah” as we say here.
