School is over, what’s a parent to do?

lastdayofschool061909h

Last day of school for my son was not a typical day. Ice-cream sundaes were created and consumed before 10 a.m. Parents came to the classroom to help out with other fun activities. I was assigned to the mural, where both kids and grownups drew their favorite memories about the school year. It was fun.

I know kids are looking forward to the summer but we adults may already be stressed out about all the summer camps and extra activities we’re signing them up for. Swimming lessons, Lego camp, soccer and ballet are on my kids’ schedules.

The interesting thing is that kids will enjoy all of it. It’s us parents who need to chill out, grab the crayons and start coloring too!
