sketches in Turkey

from the inside of St. Sophia Cathedral, Istanbul, 25 x 25 cm, pen and watercolor

The national flag was hung for the celebration of Independence Day of Turkey.

I sketched the frontal wall of library from the inside at Ephesus, Turkey.

The site reminded me of Pompeii in Italy.

I took a package tour last week for visiting the Galerie Onrust in Amsterdam where my daughter, Woo Jin Lee, was exhibiting her works(3, 9, 12 page). Though I couldn’t stay for long I felt a lot about Turkey and the rainy mood of Amsterdam. It was a special experience for me to see her works hung in foreign city’s gallery. And the directors’ kind reception will be appreciated so much. And I feel sorry not to meet correspondents where I visited for I had to trip with other tourists. Hope to be able to sketch together next time I visit.
