Borobudur, Indonesia

On our Java tour we visited Borodudur, a beautiful and impressive Buddhist temple, formed as a stone mountain. You descend in circles to the top platform where you can find numerous stupa’s with buddha statues in them. One of them was missing it’s top, fit for a sketch. Later that day we also made a tour by bike through the rural surrounding villages.

We visited some farmhouses, saw how local families lived, how their  houses were built, how they prepared meals and what they grew on the  fields.

All in all very interesting, and I enjoyed the open and friendly people.

I was able to make above sketches on location, sometimes you get just  enough time.
